Department - Sociology

The Department of Sociology at Mahila Arts Commerce College, Chandur Railway has been active since the inception of the college in 1991. The institution is managed by the Vidarbha Youth Welfare Society, Amravati, an organization dedicated to expanding educational opportunities for women in the region.

Established as an exclusive women’s college, the institution was founded with the aim of providing accessible higher education to girls from rural and semi-urban areas. The Department of Sociology plays a key role in fulfilling this mission by promoting social awareness, critical understanding, and academic growth among students.

The department focuses on equipping learners with a comprehensive understanding of social structures, cultural processes, social issues, and contemporary societal changes.
